Carolyn Peck was the first African-American woman to lead a team to an NCAA Championship at Purdue in 1999. But that is just one big spot on her lengthy coaching resume. She also had stops in the WNBA as the head coach of the Orlando Miracle and in the SEC as the head coach at the University of Florida. 
 
Not only has she enjoyed success on the sidelines, but she is also a very accomplished basketball analyst for ESPN. 
 
She joins Debbie talks about breaking glass ceilings even before cutting down the nets at Purdue, by being hired as the first African-American assistant coach for Tennessee under the late Pat Summitt in 1993. 
 
Coach Peck and Debbie get into a conversation that is much needed in this country and not just because it is Black History Month. Quotes like “Give each an equal chance” and “preparation has nothing to do with the color of your skin” will be the kinds of things you will hear. 
 
Coach Peck stresses the need for our society to have the difficult conversations, by reaching out and talking to someone you don’t know and understanding the meaning of the quote “Borrow a pair of my glasses.” 
 
I honestly still have goosebumps from listening to her speak and I know you will, as well.
 
The two analysts also break down some basketball by talking a little about the SEC, where Coach Peck gives us her dark horse candidate to win next month’s SEC WBB Tournament and a few Ticket Selling Players to look out for.
